Unboxing

Hello there!

Here’s the box of beautiful plants that you ordered. We have taken every step to carefully pack your beautiful plants to exceed your expectations and have them safely delivered at your doorsteps. We typically contact the customer and align on shipping dates. While most of our Texas shipments get delivered the very next day, sometimes, they are delayed by 1 or 2 days. If you are a non-Texas customer, a copy of Phytosanitary certificate issued by Texas Dept of Agriculture for movement of plants is also enclosed along with your packing slip. During winter, we pack your lovely plants with shipping warmer to keep them warm during transit.

As soon as you receive the package, please make sure to bring the box indoors, carefully open the same, unpack the plants slowly and carefully, as they have delicate stems and branches surrounded by packing material. Water them and keep them in a shaded non windy place with temperature above 65F and allow them to acclimatize to their new home. Keep watering them as needed and up-pot them after 2 weeks if necessary. Container change should be avoided in winter. We recommend using organic potting soil with a mix of cow manure or organic compost, per instructions on the label of the soil bags. We recommend that you avoid use of soils that have additives, as they have the tendency to harm the root structure of tropical plants, if not mixed consistently per manufacturer recommendations. Visit our Instagram Page or Plant care videos page for additional information.

We know you have the choice of other retail garden outlets and we thank you for your trust in us. We are a small business and we are working hard to establish ourselves in the market. If you are happy with the purchase, please spread the word with your family and friends. Recommend us and tag us on social media. The highest reward that we earn from our customers is another referral. Please do give us a call or write to us if you have any questions or feedback.

Happy gardening!

Best Regards

SGP General Plant Care Recommendations

  • SGP recommends that tropical plants be grown in clay containers or plastic containers or raised beds, depending on the zone you are located.

  • SGP recommends using horticltural grade potting mix for your containers as native soil generally is exposed to pests.

  • Most tropical plants need periodic watering during season and moderate watering during winter. It is important to maintain moist soil conditions for healthy root development and overall plant health. Remember to avoid overwatering. Root rots can be prevented with proper draining provisions in your growing mediums.

  • Sunlight is the best medium of light for plants. However, each plant is unique and requires different amounts of light. Some tropical plants require shade, whereas some require partial sunlight and some require morning sun, while others take full sun. Please understand what level of temperature and sunlight your lovely plant prefers and plant them accordingly. Our plant tags generally carry these recommendations for your plant.

  • Monitor the plant growth and amend recommended fertilizers periodically to maintain a healthy plant.

Plants growing in greenhouses will need to be monitored for humidity levels as well

Airation is key to avoiding pests. Monitor your plants for pests and consult a plant expert for mitigations.
